This new score for body and chinese pole arises from the need to return to a certain simplicity, to the essentiality of movement. A new look at choreographic writing of the Chinese pole on the stage, closer to the spectator in an intimate relationship, a form of sharing. It is a contemplative, sensory, abstract experience, using bodily metaphors to trigger primitive emotions that have meaning and an independent strength in the spectator.
Nonada is a dialogue between the author and the Chinese pole, a friendly confrontation between man and the pole, which brings the spectator to be his witness.
Rafael de Paula was born in Brazil in 1984. At 21, he was formed to circus at Escola Popular de Circo de Belo Horizonte, and at 25, he came to France to continue his training at Centre National des Arts du Cirque, in Châlons en Champagne.
In 2012, Rafael created Compagnie du Chaos to develop his projects around circus, dance and numeric arts.
The first creation of Compagnie du Chaos was the show Vigilia, which is revealing of the link wanted by Rafael, between Chinese pole, sound, light and video. All of these elements are a matter of the work. After several months of research and tests, using memories of his dreams, Rafael based his work around several subjects : the double, the mirror, the verticality, the fall.
