Network of contemporary circus residencies
in the Lands of Monviso
ARTISTIC PROGRAM 2015/2017

To promote contemporary circus offering Italian and European companies spaces of creativity and the opportunity to work with experts, teachers, trainers and artists of different disciplines, relating to the territory.
This is the mission of Terre di Circo – network of contemporary circus residencies in the Lands of the Monviso, by IdeAgorà, which will support for three years (2015-2017) more than a dozen of young companies. IdeAgorà created a territorial network of distribution and support for companies involving four major centers in the province of Cuneo: Fossano, Savigliano, Saluzzo and Racconigi.

From 2015 until 2017, the project Terre di Circo welcomed and will welcome companies formed by European and Italian artists living abroad and Italian companies as well in partnership with other interregional residences in Piedmont and in Italy. The artists get a residence for about 2-3 weeks to create the show, but also a chance to be enter a virtuous growth path supported by tutors and mentors. The program includes – in addition to the access of the European creation centers network – administrative and organizational training.

Over the past eight years IdeAgorà – which also organizes Mirabilia Festival – supported, financed and hosted in residence about 55 companies, one third of whom italian, working on the territory of Fossano and Turin.
The partnership Terre di Circo, supported by the European Union (five-year program Culture Strand 1.1), MiBACT, Regione Piemonte and CircusNext (European platform supporting emerging contemporary circus authors), is in partnership with the Municipalities of Fossano, Savigliano, Racconigi and Saluzzo. This shared action institutionalize the important path of support for Italian and European artistic creation undertaken by a decade.
Some of the companies in residence will present their work in world or italian premiere, or even as a work in progress in Pills Presentations at Mirabilia Festival from 1 to 10 July 2016 in Fossano, Savigliano, Saluzzo and Racconigi.
