Closer is a project that challenges the traditional relation between dance and audience, seeking a closer and democratic encounter with the spectator. The will to investigate the gesture and the intersection between dance and physical theatre has lead towards circus and the circus space and we believe that the performance ability of the dancers will be deepened through acquired skills such as clown, acrobatics or object manipulation. Creation starts in the circus space La Vela in Sabadell where we setup a series of creative spaces with circus professionals in order to learn better understand of “body poetry” and characterisation through gesture. The idea is not to create a dance-circus fusion but find a new language appropriate to the final dance show.
Thomas Noone Dance (TND) è una compagnia di ballo contemporaneo che crea emozionanti performance. Fin dai suoi inizi nel 2001 la TND ha sviluppato uno stile diventato subito il suo marchio di fabbrica che richiede un’alta abilità tecnica da parte dei suoi ballerini e cerca di provocare l’emozione nello spettatore utilizzando il corpo come mezzo di espressione artistica.
La TND è una delle compagnie più attive in Spagna. Finora ha prodotto molti spettacoli tra cui: Credo, Loner, Triptych, Fútil, Crush-Crease, Mur, Tort-The Chaos Quartet, The Room, Glitch, Lugares extrañamente desastrosos, Balbir, el meu avi, Orpheus and Eurídice, Brutal Love Poems, Watch Me, Just a Dancer, As If I and Alice.
La TND si è esibita nei più importanti festival spagnoli come il Grec, Madrid en Danza, Valencia, Gijon en Danza ecc. TND ha partecipato ad alcuni festival tra cui Aerodans in Julidans, Amsterdam, Reparages and Danse a Lille in Francia, Festival Ciudad de Mérida in México, The European Dance Festival a Cipro, Festival Internacional di Lima, Peru, Tanzmesse a Dusseldorf, Southbank a Londra o Tanzhouse a Stoccolma.
