A dynamic show with strong musical and comedy ingredients, in which five talented American style acrobats with African energy running in their veins – jugglers, flag-wavers and jumpers with fire – following the whims of a shabby vintage radio broadcasting rhythm and blues music, propose in an original key, reviving the cult of the Blues Brothers with a lot of funny gags which foresee the involvement of the public, incredible human pyramids, breath-taking somersaults, limbo with fire, fantastic jumps with a rope and in two circles.
Over the notes of the legendary movie, a show for an international audience, in which music and acrobatic virtuosity speak. Here are the Black Blues Brothers: their mission is to entertain you!
The Black Blues Brothers are five professional acrobats from the best schools in Nairobi, headed by Sarakasi Trust, an NGO that deals with the development of the performing arts in Kenya, in the belief that these disciplines are not only an art form, but also an instrument of individual expression in a collaborative environment and a means of emancipation and social redemption. What characterizes the company, in addition to their dynamic and energetic show, is in fact the focus on the social circus, which is also reflected in the relationship with the audience: through workshops for young people and meetings with the public, the Black Blues Brothers transmit the joy and the health benefits that the circus disciplines bring with them (knowledge of one’s body, trying to get involved beyond one’s limits, cooperation with others) by establishing the goal of exchanging and comparing different cultures and identities.
